ALBANY STUDENTS TRAVEL TO GREEN BAY
Albany NFL Fuel Up to Play 60 program advisors Brian Adams and Jill Schott had the opportunity to take four Albany students to Lambeau Field for the Green Bay Packers versus Dallas Cowboys football game on December 13th, 2015.
Six football tickets were received on behalf of the Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board. Albany was one of six schools representing Fuel Up to Play 60 as a chosen winner of the Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board’s kick-off event contest. Ninety-two Wisconsin schools entered the contest by submitting photos of their kick-off events. Kick-off events were held with the purpose of getting students excited about Fuel Up to Play 60. Albany students had the experience of running out onto the field through the players tunnel while their school name was being introduced. These students were able to stay on the field during starting lineups and the national anthem. It was an amazing game-day experience for everyone.

Elementary School
Congratulations to Logan Moore on being recognized as the elementary school physical education student of the month. Logan has worked very hard this year to improve his physical skills and fitness levels. He has done an excellent job focusing on those improvement goals and has has been successful separating himself from negative influences during our physical education time. This has resulted in a boost in self-confidence and that has been evident in his play. I am very proud of Logan and look forward to watching him grow and develop into one of Albany’s student athletes.

ALBANY BRAIN BREAK VIDEO
Mrs. Schott and Mr. Adams have been working with a few members of our NFL Fuel Up To Play 60 student team, along with Ciara K, (who choreographed this dance routine), to come up with a brain break video with our 4th grade students.
This video will be submitted to the NFL Fuel Up To Play 60 program for a chance to win another trip to Lambeau Field, this time for a two hour workout at the Don Hutson Center with a Packers player, along with a tour of the stadium.
We encourage all classroom teachers to use brain breaks to not only get students physically active, but it also helps with refocusing them and aids in their learning. Feel free to use this video!
Thanks to Mr. Wamsley for editing the video and overlaying the music/images!

FITNESSGRAM RECORD BOARD
October was fitness testing month for Albany students in grades 3 through 12. Most students have completed the fall FITNESSGRAM.
FITNESSGRAM is a comprehensive health-related fitness assessment. It includes a variety of health related physical fitness tests designed to assess cardiovascular fitness (aerobic capacity), muscle strength, muscular endurance, flexibility, and body composition. The fitness items are scored using criterion-referenced standards. These standards are age and gender specific and are established based on how fit children need to be for good health. Through the use of these standards, a “healthy fitness zone” is created. Students completed the mile, pacer, curl-up, push-up, sit & reach, trunk lift, height, weight, & percent body fat assessments.
